Andrey Davydov was born on January, 12th 1957, in Moscow.
He graduated from the theatrical
faculty of School-studio of MKhAT (institute) on a specialty "the artist of a stage". Father
Andrey is engaged in icon painting since 1978. He worked as the artist the icon painter in
different workshops of the Moscow Patriarchy, Moscow monastery of the Saint Daniel, under
various church and private orders in Russia and abroad. In 1986 he was imposed in priests.
Also Father Andrey has ended the St.-Petersburg Theological seminary, and nowadays he is trained in
the St.-Petersburg spiritual academy. Since 1993 he served as the prior of unique monument of
Old Russian architecture of 12 centuries a cathedral of Christmas of John the Forerunner in
Pskov. Father Andrey drew icons for iconostasis of a cathedral, fresco lists of a temple and
vestibule. Under his management at the cathedral the icon painting workshop has been organized.
Since 2007 father Andrey serves and works in Suzdal as the prior in Nikolas` church and the
church of the Birth of the Christ, where the icon painting workshop settles down.
