Time of construction of Saint Nicolas` church concerns to 1720-1739. It is built on a place of the old tent wooden Saint Nicolas church, which have burned down on fire in 1719. Because of this temple an ancient gate left on road, leading to the bridge through the river Kamenką are named also the Nicolas` gate.
Construction of the church on this place at a gate to distant waterways was of great importance, as Saint Nicolas always was considered as the patron of seafarers and travelers.
The building of church looks very elegantly. Cuba of the temple, blocked by the close arch with beautiful portals, comes to the end with a belt of fine kokoshniks and wide eaves. Above a roof with four slopes the harmonious drum of the chapter with two circles arches of towers. A small vestibule connects a temple with a bell tower.
Bell tower of a temple is a building with the perfect proportions and beautiful decorative details of external furniture. In a basis of the project of a bell tower the ancient type of tent construction- octagon on quadrangle lays.
